Hatch Engineering has a proud history, operating as one of the most trusted steel fabricators in the South East for over 30 years.

The company was established in 1993 by Paul and Karen Scrivens. Paul started off as a one-man band operating from a double garage. Five years later the company moved to its current home near Ashford in Kent and the team and facilities have been growing in size and strength ever since.

We’ve come a long way since those early days. But one thing that has never changed is the Hatch commitment to offer excellent steelwork services at a competitive price, alongside our trademark great customer service.

Family Owned

We’re a family-owned business with an up-to-the-minute approach to meeting and surpassing industry standards. In 2006 Scott Close came on board. He has worked his way up from apprentice at the age of 16 to company director. His wife Lauren now heads up our office administration team.

From day one Hatch Engineering has had its sights firmly set on providing clients with the very best in custom fabrication services. Our strong reputation for combining high-quality craftsmanship with prompt and efficient work speaks for itself – 70% of our business is from return customers.

A one-stop shop for all your steel solutions. Hatch HQ is a highly capable fabrication facility perfectly equipped for a wide variety of specialist fabrication projects that will meet any client requirements.

Our 12,000 square foot purpose-built premises can produce 5000 tonnes of steel every year, allowing us to take part in a huge range of steel projects and helping us build a reputation for excellence and reliability.

Our fully serviced workshops are equipped with the latest state-of-the-art equipment and have capacity to build parts of up to 10,000 kg.
