Sustainability

At Hatch we know that we have the power to make a difference. As structural steel fabricators we believe we have a responsibility to consider environmental best practice in every aspect of the work we do. In order to live up to this responsibility we’re committed to minimising the potential harmful effects of our actions wherever and whenever we can, from the smallest detail to broad scale operational decisions.

Our Approach to Sustainability

We believe it’s really important to ensure efficient use of materials at all times and we’re always striving to minimise the waste we produce at every stage of the fabrication process. Where this isn’t possible, we make sure to recycle waste steel and other waste materials.

We keep a close eye on our purchasing practices and internal operations, including energy and transport, to ensure best use of natural resources and minimum environmental impact throughout. We reduce the environmental impact of the goods we supply by adopting a ‘cradle to grave’ assessment and responsibility for them. We also hold our suppliers and other third parties associated with our business to the same high standards. Integrating environmental considerations into future business policy decisions is always at the forefront of our minds and we ensure the whole team is on board with this through regular training.

Our People

At Hatch we believe that everybody deserves to work in a safe environment – that’s why health and safety is much more than just a formality for us. The health and safety of our employees, associates, visitors and others who come into contact with our work will always be paramount and we pride ourselves on not only complying with legal safety requirements but exceeding them wherever we can. Every member of staff receives regular training in safe work practices and the proper use of equipment and machinery, from engineers through to directors.
